Inclusive Performing Arts at Pappa’s Mill
“Performing Arts for All” could be the alternative title of the “Un-Label” workshops coming soon in Larissa to engage artists with or without disabilities in a creative, international, intercultural artistic dialogue that unites England, Germany, Turkey and Greece.
Un-Label is a project implemented simultaneously in four European countries under the program “Creative Europe” and aims to develop and disseminate a creative methodology through the collective expression of artists with or without disabilities. The main outcome of the project is to produce a theater, dance and music performance, which will travel to European festivals, spreading the message that identity based on diversity and how each of us is, and has the right to feel special.
Within the 2-year project, a fifteen-group composed of artists, researchers and producers from Brazil, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Belgium and Greece, will visit Larissa to implement initiation and creation workshops through the arts of dance, music and theater. The workshops will take place from 22 to 25 November at the “Mill of Pappas”, in partnership with the Mayoralty of Culture.
Similar workshops have been held in Cologne and will be held next February in Istanbul. Then, selected artists from these workshops will joint the group in order to create and interpret the performance, which will premiere in May in Germany and will be presented later in international festivals in Europe.
Official implementation body and project partner in Greece is the SMouTh (Synergy of Music Theatre) with partners to CandoCo Dance Company (London), Sosyal Kulturel Yasami Gelistirme Derneği (Istanbul), Technical University TH Köln (Cologne). The project coordination is the Sommertheater Pusteblume (Cologne).
The project is coordinated by Lisette Reuter and artistically directed by Costas Lamproulis.
