The Birds (Ornithes)

The Birds (Ornithes)

The Synergy of Music Theatre (SMouTh), following the cycle of presentations of its educational department, invites you to the performance ”The Birds” (Ornithes) by the Drama Class of primary school students. One of the most famous and brilliant greek ancient comedies by Aristophanes, comes to life on the stage of SYNERGEIO, Culture space for two performances on Monday 30 June and Tuesday 1 July at 9.00pm. Join us in this feathered, political allegory which reminds us that even birds can build a new ideal world, if only they believe in it.

The play

Somewhere, once upon a time, two Athenians, fed up with the hustle, the wrangling and the many, orders, decided to escape to the world of birds. There they had a crazy idea: ‘’Why not build a city in the sky? That way neither gods nor men will bother us.” Starring the children, Ornithes come to life in a theatrical adventure full of laughter, feathers, wings, songs and a bit of audacity, in a world where everything is possible, as long as we have imagination (and wings).
