“The Big Nothing” is a dramaturgic dialogue with the previous production of SmouTh’s laboratory groups, the “Little Everything”, which takes forward the questions about human nature and social coexistence while exploring the concepts of “nothing” and “something”.
This time, in “The Big Nothing’’ an art exhibition space becomes the meeting place of the performers where a new visual artwork grows to be the triggering event which emerges the stories and ideas of the people who meet with it in order to redefine their very existence, coexistence and change.
This original work is the result of the work of the workshops of SΜοuTh’s in theatre, dance, music, narrative photography and creative writing. All workshops took place during the educational cycle 2022-23 at the industrial monument of Mylos Pappas, in collaboration with the Deputy Mayor of Culture and Science of the Municipality of Larissa and constitutes a creative synthesis of the ideas negotiated by the groups under the guidance of the trainers: Costa Lamproulis, Despina Bounitsi, Athena Manoli, Filippos Zoukas, Giannis Chatziantoniou and Thanasis Saliabοuchos.
