12 Mar Gialos Project
The GIALOS project officially began today with its first team meeting, held within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps programme and coordinated by Synergy of Music Theatre. The meeting brought together the young participants of the team, along with the two coaches, Costas Lamproulis and Dimitris Vallas.
The GIALOS project aims to highlight climate change as a lived experience, through the stories and challenges faced by local communities in Thessaly. It places a strong emphasis on youth participation and perspective, bringing young people into dialogue with residents from both urban and rural areas around issues such as natural disasters, environmental degradation, and their social and psychological impacts. At the same time, it seeks to strengthen collective action and solidarity, with the creation of a documentary as one of its main outcomes, capturing these experiences and contributing to a deeper understanding of contemporary environmental challenges.
During the meeting, the main objectives of the project were defined, an initial timeline was developed, and responsibilities were distributed among team members. In addition, communication channels and strategies for promoting the project were discussed and established.
