Artistic Outcomes | Generation Europe The Academy Youth Encounter 2026 – Larissa

Youth Commons: Access (not) granted

Youth Commons: Access (not) granted was this year’s international youth artist exchange within the Generation Europe – The Academy network, held in Larissa from 30 June to 11 July 2026, organised by Synergy of Music Theatre (SMouTh).

For ten days, 30 young artists from Cologne, Florence and Larissa came together at SYNERGEIO Culture Space, discovering the city and its people while sharing ideas, experiences and creative tools. Through collaboration, research and artistic experimentation, they created collective works exploring the relationship between young people and public space.

The central theme of this year’s exchange was the role of young artists in public space. What can art bring to the public space? What can we claim through art? How can art become a starting point for dialogue, participation and active citizenship?

Starting from these questions, the participants worked in small international creative groups and developed their own artistic projects, combining different forms of performing and audiovisual arts.

The final works form a multivocal mosaic of experiences, images, narratives and reflections on access, participation, expression and the place of young people within the city and public space.
