“Truth” at the National Opera

In its drive to cultivate direct contacts with regional groups active in the field of music theater, the  Greek National Opera’s (GNO) Alternative Stage launched four days of joint events with regional groups aimed at:
1. fostering contact between the Alternative Stage and regional groups,
2. encouraging contact between regional groups themselves, and
3. hosting workshops at the GNO’s Alternative Stage at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) featuring selected groups to develop their members’ skills.

As part of these actions, SMouTh was invited and participated as one of the most mature and experienced groups in Greece. The 22 members of SMouTh found at the SNFCC from July 20 to 23, took part in the experiential workshops, the debates and the presentations and attended performances of the other groups, as well as the opera “Trovatore” presented in Odeon of Herodes Atticus by GNO. Finally, SMouTh coordinated a 5-hour Combo workshop, presented the work of Un-Label and its work in progress performance “Truth”.

In addition to the SMouTh, also invited were the Municipal & Regional Theatre of Kozani, the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University (Corfu) and the “Antivaro” team from Rethymno.
