Workshops for Adults

Acting

Trainers: Katerina Bekou, Thanasis Saliampοuchos

In the Acting workshop participants come into contact with the rules of structured and spontaneous expressive play and how this is transferred to the theatrical act using body expression and the correct use of speech (orthophony, breathing). Students work on texts of various dramaturgy and explore the combination of all the individual elements that structure the theatrical role.

Ballet

Trainer: Dimitra Zacharouli, Despina Bounitsi

Art and exercise combined, classical dance is a powerful combination of physical exercise and cultivation of the spirit, as well as an art that touches adults with its enchanting world of stories and music. Ballet technique has the potential to create a body that is intelligent and expressive and invites you to choose it instead of – or alongside – gymnastics and sport.

Contemporary Dance & Improvisation

Trainers: Athina Manoli, Despina Bounitsi

A free expression class where physical skills and personal movement are cultivated, highlighting dance as a complete and valuable means of expression and communication. Starting from the techniques of contemporary dance (Release, Limon) and improvisation, we integrate new trends and the quests of the group in our work, in order to connect dance with life itself and contemporary social reality. No previous dance experience is required but a willingness to work and share.  We seek ways for ideas to flow through physical expression, bringing us together and setting us free.

Creative Writing

Trainer: Costas Lamproulis

Based on the belief that everyone can produce written texts and stories, the creative writing workshop gives its members the opportunity to express themselves and experiment with the most common, perhaps, means of expression, the written word. In a context defined by spontaneity, safety and immediate feedback, each stimulus becomes an occasion for creative writing and then a trigger for an equally creative interaction and communication that aim not only at developing expressive ways but also at building introspection and team spirit.

Body Percussion

Trainer: Philippos Zoukas

Body percussion workshop is addressed to those who want to create, relax and express themselves through the musical instrument that we all carry every day, our body. Body percussion is an art form expressed by the human body through movement and the sounds it produces, combining rhythm, expression and communication.

Puppet Theatre

Trainer: Marialena Tsiamoura

When people meet on stage, wonderful things can happen. But when puppets meet people, everything becomes magical, inexplicably moving and emotional. In this workshop, we explore how people relate to the material and the puppets. We work on constructing and animating the theatrical puppet, as well as defining the world around it. Furthermore, we explore the way puppeteers support the puppet on stage, the dynamics and evolution of this relationship. But above all, we experiment, play and discover the magic.

Narrative Photography

Trainer: Giannis Chatziantoniou

Narrative photography workshop is addressed to young people who are attracted by the magic and power of the image and are looking to expand their cognitive and creative horizons in the art and technique of photography but at the same time express themselves through the image and interact within a group.

Videomaking

Trainer: Dimitris Vallas

The aim of the video workshop is to convey new ideas and techniques for capturing and editing moving visual images. With hands-on learning on camera operation, the participants will be able to practice video production from recording and directing to final editing while interacting within the group.

Yoga

Trainer: Dimitra Zacharouli

Breathing, gentle activation of the whole body, stretching, relaxation: the practice of yoga needs no further introduction. We only need to add it in our schedule and observe its benefits.

Playgroup for adults

Trainer: Marialena Tsiamoura

The playgroup for adults combines experiential exercises, play and art, and is based on the theory of Gestalt Psychotherapy. The group’s objective is to create a safe environment where the members can play and laugh, receive support and care. Our meetings will give us food for thought, opportunities for self-awareness, but also for exploration and experimentation regarding the relationships we develop with other people. Let’s rediscover what it’s like to play and enjoy!
