09 Sep Mill of Performing Arts 8 – Program
For the 8th consecutive year, the Mill of Performing Arts Festival (MPArt) is a celebration of the city of Larissa, the culture and the arts. MPArt is a festival that has been embraced by the city, having become an institution. This year however, it is also a celebration of Thessaly, as three Thessalian festivals (Volos Festival, Trikala Comedy Festival, and MPART) are coming together and collaborating on the common theme of TRANSITION, with common programming and a common goal: a proactive search for answers to the challenges and dead-ends caused by the COVID-19 pandemic both in contemporary societies and in the field of art.
The 8th Mill of Performing Arts takes place for another year, primarily in the premises of the industrial monument, Pappa’s Mill, from the 17th till the 26th of September 2021 and includes performances, concerts, film screenings, exhibitions, workshops and a seminar titled “Transition in Performing Arts”. More than 150 artists, researchers and cultural professionals from Greece and abroad participate in this year’s 10-day event.
The 8th Mill of Performing Arts is co-organised by the Mayoralty of Culture and Sciences of the Municipality of Larissa and the Music Theatre Workshop, and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Region of Thessaly.
The events will strictly follow all COVID-19 protective regulations. Participation in the workshops and entrance to the exhibitions is free, while there is a token fee of 2€ for the performances and screenings, and the proceeds will be offered to the support of the victims of the Evia wildfires.
