SMouTh in Ljubljana for the ReStory Project

Last week, SMouTh (Synergy of Music Theatre) travelled to Slovenia as part of the activities of the European project ReStory – Reclaiming Public Space through Participative Narratives.

During the meeting, the project partners discussed the public spaces selected in each city for artistic interventions, as well as the stories and experiences that each place has brought to light. They also planned the next steps, placing particular emphasis on the implementation of pilot workshops focused on reconnection and artistic intervention.

ReStory explores young people’s relationship with public space and the ways in which it shapes their everyday lives, identities and sense of connection to their communities. The project aims to encourage young people to rediscover the public spaces in their cities, reflect on their significance and actively participate in redefining them through artistic creation.

The project’s outcomes will be presented in a digital publication featuring the research methodology developed throughout the project, along with a collection of practical activities designed for youth workers. These activities aim to encourage young people to reflect on the relationship they build with public space. The material will be brought together in a final publication, freely available in English and in the languages of all partner countries, serving as a practical resource for artists, educators and professionals working with young people.

ReStory is coordinated by ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne (Germany), in partnership with SMouTh (Greece), Centro di Creazione e Cultura (Italy), City of Women (Slovenia), Kaunas Cultural Centre of Various Nations (Lithuania) and Subjective Values Foundation (Hungary). The project is co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.
