Ecologies of Care

Ecologies of Care is a new three-year European Erasmus+ KA2 partnership (2024–2027) in the field of youth, which SMouTh (Greece) recently joined involving also the organisations MOH (Italy)  Elan Interculturel (France) and InTouch (Netherlands).

The aim of the project is to reinterpret the concept of care from a socio-ecological perspective, treating it not as an individual wellness practice but as an act of resistance, solidarity and collective resilience. The project seeks to challenge dominant systems that create a lack of time, resources and psychosomatic fatigue asking critical questions about:

• Which social and ecological relationships need to be regenerated,
• Which practices and structures need to be re-evaluated or abandoned,
• Which forms of care can contribute to the formation of more sustainable and inclusive communities.

The project aims to cultivate a holistic and contemporary approach to care by strengthening:

• The ability to cultivate healthy interpersonal relationships,
• The development of interdependence and solidarity within communities,
• The connection of young people with their wider social and natural environment.

Ecologies of Care is funded by the National Youth Agency of Italy (Agenzia Nazionale Giovani) under the Erasmus+ / Key Action 2 – Cooperation Partnerships in Youth program.
